Diskeeper

I personally use Diskeeper (http://www.diskeeper.com) which, due to the massive option set and idle-defragmentation, I find to be worth the price. Explicit free-space consolidation is a pro and up feature, unfortunately.

I suggests diskeeper defrag (www.diskeeper.com) to my clients, as it was created by the same company that actually built the defrag that comes with windows and defrags automatically. In fact, diskeeper corp created the API that most other defrag softwares use to defrag windows.

I prefer automatic defragmenters- why do the job manually when good software is available to automate the process without human intervention. Auto defraggers are more efficient and help to save manpower and $$ compared to manually scheduling defrags for many workstations. In our lab, we have automatic defraggers installed on all the workstations and it has proved to be very useful...no more time is wasted with scheduling defrags for Friday late PMs. The workstations maintain their disks on their own as required.
